Economic Analysis of the Use of Renewable Energy Sources

Researcher: Judit T. Kiss PhD

For sustainable development, priority will be given to measures that promote the improvement of energy efficiency, the stimulation of the production and use of renewable energy, and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Many factors can influence the use of renewable energy sources and the level of greenhouse gas emissions, such as the level of economic development, energy dependence and the nature of urbanisation, the level of human capital achieved, and thus the environmental awareness of economic actors, or even the nature of state involvement. The purpose of the research is to investigate what macroeconomic factors can influence the use of renewable energy sources, what relationship can be identified between energy consumption, carbon dioxide emissions and macroeconomic factors, and what social and economic impact of the use of renewable energy can be recognised.
