1. Engineer or Manager?
The Lean engineer and Lean manager postgraduate programmes follow the same curriculum and share lessons. The difference between the two programmes lies not in the course content, but in the prior qualifications required for application and the qualification title you can obtain.
I have an engineering degree. → Lean Engineer
Those who hold a bachelor’s degree (BSc) in engineering, or a college-level or equivalent engineering qualification, may apply for the Lean Engineer programme. Upon completion of the programme, participants will receive a certificate confirming their qualification as a Lean Engineer.
I do not have an engineering degree. → Lean Manager
The Lean Manager training programme is designed for those who already hold a higher education qualification but whose degree is not in an engineering discipline. Applicants may include graduates from fields such as economics, information technology, natural sciences, agriculture, social sciences or other areas of higher education. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate confirming their qualification as a Lean Manager.
An existing higher education degree is a prerequisite for both courses. The curriculum, lecturers, modules, and the competences acquired are identical.
Part-time or full-time study?
Part-time study
We have designed the distance learning programme primarily for working professionals. The course consists of just seven Friday–Saturday sessions per semester, making it easy to balance your studies with work and family life.
Important: This form of study does not entitle students to a study visa and residence permit. International applicants must have a work visa or a job-seeking visa during their studies.
We recommend this if:
*you wish to continue your studies whilst working full-time or along with your master's or PhD studies;
*a flexible timetable is important to you;
*you do not wish to attend university regularly on weekdays.
Full-time study (in English only)
Full-time study ensures full-time attendance at university, with regular weekly classes. This programme is primarily recommended for those who wish to focus on their studies or develop within an international student environment.
We recommend this if:
*you wish to study as a full-time student;
*a continuous university environment is important to you;
*you would like to actively participate in international student life.
